Family Involvement

At Ojibwa Indian School, strong family engagement is essential for student success. We encourage open communication, parent-teacher collaboration, and participation in school activities.
Open Door Policy
We maintain an open-door policy for parents and guardians of enrolled students. Families are welcome to meet with the principal during school hours. If a conference with a teacher is needed, we ask that parents schedule a meeting after school to minimize disruptions.
To ensure safety, all parents must sign in and obtain a visitor’s pass upon entering the building.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences are held at the end of the first and third quarters. Report cards are distributed during these meetings. For the second and fourth quarters, report cards are mailed to parents who are unable to attend.
School Communication
We provide regular updates through the following:
- A monthly newsletter sent to parents and posted on our Facebook page.
- Direct communication from teachers and staff to keep families informed.
Volunteer and Engagement Opportunities
Families can get involved by:
- Attending school events and extracurricular activities.
- Volunteering for school programs and fundraisers.
- Supporting their child’s learning at home through active participation.
By working together, we create a thriving community that supports student success inside and outside the classroom.
